Through story times, cultural celebrations, hands-on art workshops, the Charlotte Cup Chinese Recitation Contest, and our annual Children’s Lunar New Year Showcase, CCST creates meaningful opportunities for children to learn Chinese, express themselves, connect with their heritage, and shine.

All of our programs are offered free of charge because we believe access to language and culture should never depend on a family’s ability to pay.

Our very first Dragon Boat Festival with CCST 🐉❤️

From DIY sachets 🌿 to Chinese name calligraphy 🖌️, panda parade appearances 🐼, dragon boat lanterns 🏮, lacquer fans, and cultural crafts — our booth was full of laughter, creativity, and cultural connection all day long.

We loved seeing so many children and families experience Chinese culture in such a hands-on and joyful way. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and shared this special day with us!

Spring blooms, little hands, and so much love. 🌸💐

Our young artists created beautiful handmade paper flowers during CCST’s Spring Paper Flower Craft Workshop, just in time for Mother’s Day. Guided by Ms. Wang, each child turned simple materials into something bright, joyful, and full of heart.

Every flower was different. Every artwork was special. And every piece carried a little love for mom and family. 💕

We loved seeing the children so proud of their creations!

We are thrilled to invite our community to the Grand Final of the Charlotte Cup Chinese Poetry Recitation Contest on May 10 at 1:00 PM at Fullwood Theater.

Last Saturday at ImaginOn was full of stories, culture, smiles, and little moments of wonder. ✨

Charlotte Chinese Story Time was so happy to join the 2026 Día Festival and share Chinese language and culture with families across our community.

From Chinese picture books and traditional clothing try-ons to ring toss games, lion dance props, panda photos, and cultural displays, we loved seeing children explore, play, ask questions, and celebrate culture together. 🐼📚

Día celebrates children, books, languages, and cultures — and we were honored to be part of such a joyful community event.

One of the children who often comes to our story time spotted our photo on the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library homepage and asked his parent to send us a screenshot. That was how we discovered that Charlotte Chinese Story Time was actually featured in the Spotlight section!

We are so honored and excited to see our community represented there. Thank you to Charlotte Mecklenburg Library for highlighting this wonderful celebration of children, books, and cultures.
